When newspaper editor Emily Delaney, and her number one reporter Peg, take a tour of Latitude 47 Farm their visions of fresh produce are smashed when they encounter a dead body. Chef Heather Collins is found dead in her new farm-to-table restaurant kitchen, and Emily digs in to find the killer. Not so easy when Heather seems to have a list of enemies longer than a country mile. All the while a new environmental activist group called Green Friends has shown up in town pulling stunts and scaring the locals. Emily is eager to solve both mysteries, both to get the stories for the newspaper and to help calm her friends. She also tries to calm herself as she continues to see her boyfriend with new mysterious blonde.
